Looking on fleabay, that seems to be the going rate now, as you say a little steep.

If you don't like silly asking prices, keep your fingers away from the keyboard! I just hit the "watch" button on anything I think is overpriced, just to see if it sells. More often than not it doesn't, and the listing times out with no sale. There's a big difference between asking a high price for something and actually getting it!
I take what an investor would call a "deep value" approach to buying used bikes, in that I seek out stuff that is only a few pennies in the pound on it's original new cost. I don't get into bidding wars, I set myself a price and if it goes above that, I walk away. I reckon there are more and better bargains around at the very end of the year, and in the first couple of months of the new year. Crap weather making cycling unappealing, combined with tight domestic finances around Xmas and Jan/Feb are probably the main reasons, together with displacement from new bikes.

Hello.

I've enjoyed reading the posts on this subject ....

I have a Raleigh Panasonic team replica 531c that I bought around 1986. I road raced for a local club for a few years then other things got in the way...

Same old story, job, wife, kids, mortgage, ...everything came before riding my bike and then a knee problem which has meant it's not been outside for about 3 years now.

It has mavic MA40 rims with shimano 600ex groupset , san marco rolls saddle , campag seat pin.
I'm not interested in selling it as it has sentimental value to me but curious to how much it could be worth? As you can imagine it's in excellent condition with just a few letters missing of the decals.
Happy to post some pics

Yeah, I had a Pursuit when I was in the Army. The whole recipe was getting a bit long in the tooth by then, but it wasn't a bad bike to ride. Still better than the Townsend and Apollo offerings of the day.

My Pursuit (pictured in avatar) was an utter dog. Only noticed when I got it home that the joint on one of the seat stays had gone.

Can't now believe I used it initially with wire bracing and latterly with a dodgy weld provided kindly by my motor mechanic.

Probably £500 upwards if you can find someone with a similar attitude to yourself.

If it was in good nick and a 25 inch model I would be tempted at that level.
