Can you really tell a 0.6mm difference from a photo? Or that the stem wasn't forced open to get an oversized bar to fit?

Yes. As a time-served turner Im not looking for 0.6 mm, but if that was a 26 bar in a 1” stem the slot would be way out of parallel.
