Hello,
I'm curious of other people's experiences. I have two Raleighs of mid 70s vintage, a pro track and an International, both acquired used. In both cases, the fork steerers are distorted. In the International, the distortion prevents the stem from dropping all the way down as I would prefer. In the track bike, it does not affect the stem fitting, but I can see that the steerer is bulged.
Has anybody else noticed this? Did Raleigh use a lower grade of steel for the steerers?
