Radio ban in two TdF stages

Personally, defo a good thing. Bring back forges and unpaved roads too, c'mon!

Mind you I watched a TT once in France, Motorola it was. There was a bloke standing out of the sunroof with a megaphone shouting the approaching bends out to the riders, just like a rally car co-pilot.

I can't see it doing any harm, especially as it is only two stages.

I understand concerns about safety and such but were there really many more crashes before radios than now? Besides which, it's not like a total information blackout - they will still have the motorcycles with the boards saying what the time gap is. All it means is being more prepared in discussing tactcs and potential outcomes before the stage begins.

The safety stuff is surely a smokescreen. I predict a blizzard of opportunistic attacks. Go DM!

Got to be worth a try. I suspect one or... no, just one :rain:, rider will quite vocally voice his displeasure... as the self-appointed voice of the peleton!

I think they should fix their own punctures as well, just to prove their all-round bike skills/knowledge!

This will make no difference at all.

I sometimes listen to the radio when I am riding, sometimes not. Either way, I'm still fantastically uncompetitive.

I bet the big bully from Texas will have this rule overturned in minutes after he has spoken to his UCI friend Pat (Yes Lance) McQuaid!!
After all he has bent over forwards for Lance on several other occassions since his comeback.
