Hi,
Wondering if anyone can point me to a road race calendar for next year 2010, for UK. One which amateurs can enter.
Cheers

All you need is there. You'll need a licence if you haven't got one already...

If you haven't raced before, can I suggest you have a look for some cat 4 circuit races to enter this year? You can get away with buying a day licence on the line with certain events.

Thanks Will,
Being 40 I guess I can only enter cat 4 anyway? I may just try one, just afraid of making a fool of myself!

find th local tli league, much better place to start as bcf can be stuck up nobs...

Not sure about the stuck-up nobs bit, but deffo try tli, look at www.theleagueinternational.com.

Cheaper than bc, less rules etc, and some/most races are handicapped, which means that you set of in a group according to age/ability, slower groups going off before fast groups, and supposedly all comes together at the finish. Doesnt always quite work out that way.

It means that for your first race you will be in a group of say 10-20 riders, similar ability to you, and you might get a chance to sprint it out for the win. Bit less intimididating for a newbie than 80 riders of varying abilities in a group.;)
