It was somewhat later than that
I still do not use GPS on the bike, except for logging rides afterwards. I prefer an overview of the area and if a GPS file is provided for a ride I will check it out on a map, to put the route in context. Far too many people I ride with have no idea where they are. But that's a subject for another thread perhaps
