Unless you have chromed long dropouts from the 70's and then they have to be tight enough to make your palms bleed

Or over-hard Ti dropouts which the QR nut serrations can't bite into.

I knew someone who problems with superlight Ti skewers. They stretched too much when closing the levers. They didn't exert enough force even when adjusted properly so the back wheel kept pulling out.
