Give them a spanking with a hammer, that'll teach them.lubricant.... and they don't need to be tight, just taught.
Quick releases rely on friction to work
Is it inertia and a lack of leverage? No, they don't.
What is the best way to make sure quick release levers are kept easy to get on and off. What should I use to stop them from becoming stiff and difficult?
Just don't do them too tight. I did that once years ago, and managed to snap the skewer (fortunately not while cycling). It was the axle part of the skewer which snapped, not the lever. But since it snapped while I was pushing the lever in, no harm done to myself, so I was lucky.
i thought it was a cam.Quick releases rely on friction to work, so don't be using lubricant!
