Quick question - new bike

Hi,
Please bear with me... a newbie!
Have spotted a Carrera bike for sale, it's a XC Kraken, 27 speed gears. It's in good condition and the lady wants £150 for it, but will take £100 - I think she knows as little about bike as me - is this a good deal? p.s. i believe it is a 2010/2011 model

£450 for a new one, so £100 sounds fine if it is in good condition.
Alot does depend on what the bike is going to be used for.

Sounds like a bargain if it is in good nick. Make sure to ask if it has been crashed, you may not get a truthful answer. Have a look to see if there are any bad dents or creases in the frame or forks before you buy. Have a little ride around on it to check that it is the correct size and that it rides in a straight line.

I have one great bikes, good ride, very capable on and off road and fairly fast for a mtb I would say go with it.

Forgot to say it has hydraulic brakes, adjustable fork lockout for riding on roads
