My new bike which I ordered online came with both front and wheel wobble. I have booked it in for wheel truing at my LBS. It's booked in for next monday but probably won't be ready until next wednesday. My question is, is the bike a) safe to ride until the wobble has been sorted out and b) will the riding the bike whilst there is wobble damage the bike? The wheel wobble isn't massive, about a mm on both wheels. I ask because I use my bike most days for commuting and club rides and it will be a massive pain in the posterior if I can't use it in the meantime.

Yeah, it might develop other wobbles while in use which can be fixed at the same time on Monday.

Perhaps your LBS is right in that the rim is 1mm out, you can't really tell from the video...that said there is a noticeable wobble on the tyre. it may just want deflating, reseating properly and re inflating.

if you look real carefully from the side of your wheel / tyre....there us usually a moulding / seating / bead line that goes round the tyre. slowly spin the wheel and make sure that line is always the same distance from the rim itself. if it's not, the tyres not seated properly.

Depending how or where you brought the bike Welsh Wheels....I brought a cheap hybrid via Amazon, it had a pronounced rim wobble out of the box. I contacted them, and they refunded me £25. Probably easier for them than arranging return etc. I trued it myself in the end.

Wheels trued now thanks to lbs who kindly squeezed me in earlier than I'd booked.

Some tyres are just badly made. I once had some natty red Specialized MTB knobblies that were almost unrideable, they were so mis-shapen.
