Here's a hypothetical situation (which must have occurred somewhere at some point):
Artic driver is convicted of causing death by dangerous driving in his lorry and disqualified from driving for five years. He is also ordered to sit an extended driving test when his ban is over.
Q. Does he have to resit his test in an HGV or just a standard car, or both?
Car yes to extended retest. L.G.V in L.G.V. He may be banned for life from holding a L.G.V licence. He may have to start driving with the smallest of L.G.V. vehicles to prove he still has the skills to drive them.
L.G.V. drivers are subject to many rules and regulations and their License entitlement can be revoked or suspended for many reasons.(For example if a L.G.V. driver is caught using a mobile phone it has to be reported to the Traffic Commissioner this also applies to speeding and many other offences) He will have to appear in front of The local Traffic Commissioner to explain his reasons for committing an offence and good reason for the reinstatement of his License.
Hope this helps.
