no they tell us you won't accept other peoples knowledge or experience, do i have to pull up research papers and zeus charts to prove you wrong? in fact google it yourself.

you sir are argumentative and i will no longer take part in this thread. it is not the first time you have done this.

So because I have a different view to you you are gong to flounce off in a huff. You will find I am not the only one who holds with my experience. As for charts they can be used to prove anything, especially if they are provided by or related to cable manufacturers.

Not all installations of internal cables are equal.

A number of things will effect how your groupset performs.

Not all components or frames are designed equally well, thus the cable routing in poorer designs will increase cable bend inside or encourage silly bends at the points of exit.

Some people just dont have a clue about how long to cut the outers and end up with some absurdly long outers which spiral all over the place, others with silly short outers which mean you have to bend the cable a lot.

By case of an example, my TT bike, the frame IMO has very well thought out internal routing, with good points of entry and exit, just as you might expect on a Cannondale. However, a combination of the tri-bar design and the person who installed the cables leaving the outers too long (not myself I might add) means that my front brake feels very much, off, or on, or very on, whereby the rear break feels nice and smooth and progressive.

Cable bend has a noticable effect, you dont have to have right angles or crushed outers to notice it, its noticable long before that. If you cant notice it then you either dont know what you are feeling for, or your cables are installed okay, at which point you can pat yourself on the back!

Agreed. Outer length has a huge impact on the effectiveness of gear changing or braking.

BTW, if all the bikes were SuperSix's which are very nice bikes, then its hardly representative of 105 IMO. I'd hazard a guess that it might be something to do with the Cannondale finishing kit, i.e. the handlebars might have had poor routing features. I wasnt impresed with the handlebars (Cannondale C3) on my CAAD9 (not for the same reason) they were very flexy and I'm a weakling so if I was making them flex that much then god help the non weak. O.o.

However, the Cannondale bars on my other bike are must stiffer, but these are oversize, so maybe they learnt their lesson.

Just a thought........ might not have been the 105 but the components they were routed through etc.
