Thanks very much indeed for your reply - I'm in the middle of nowhere in southern France and, believe it or not, have no reliable way of measuring the tube - so have written to the manufacturer. I'd already read your article on the dog fang - that's what made me decide to buy one! My chain is thrown off when changing from the big ring to the small and nowhere can I find good info on how to adjust the FD screws properly on my Campag Record - it's the simplest of tasks, it's just the screws (nothing to do with the alignment of the FD, etc.) but I'm new to all this so thought the dog fang might be the best option.
