I once put a shaped connector link on upside down and scratched my head for a while as to why it was suddenly jumping.^_^^_^

A lot of wear on the cassette larger (low gear) sprockets, worth checking. And why a quick link? Much better to just get a chain tool and simply fit that way, then there will be nothing to get wrong. If the chain has a stiff link after fitting, simply bend from side to side a little at the tight point, ease a bit with the tool, and it'll be fine.
