Hi Guys,
Thank you for your replies. Lots for me to take away. Spent a good hour in my local bike shop last night, with one of the techs. Wheel all good, so counts that one out, tape removed. usual clean down and inspection of the tyre and wheel. New inner tube installed and gone up to 120 psi. Talked through my tyre/tube changing technique also just to make sure I'm doing it right, a few tweaks and hopefully I will see end of this bad run.
I like the Gators, good ride on them, but they are tight to put on, my fibre glass levers wont do the job, snapped two, so metal levers for the job.
I like Gatorskins too. Have you considered using a VAR lever to help put them back on? Like this. Follow the link to the instructions to see how it works.

Good luck - I use www.fillthathole.org.uk to report potholes and here in S Glos they are swiftly filled. Hope things improve for you !

There is of course, a huge element of luck involved as to whether a tyre punctures or not especially if riding only average quality tyres. A good quality tyre will cope with most stuff but even these will suffer if you ride over a nail/screw, tough thorns or sharp flint. I don't understand the pinch flats you are getting, not at that pressure, only ever had one in my life. Just to balance the books, my fixed was shod with gators when I first got it and I suffered 3 punctures in the first week or so, I ditched them for my current ones that have done over 40,000 miles with the same number of punctures and my better half hasn't had any I can recall.
Best advice I can offer is to be a tad more careful and avoid hitting potholes because at this rate it is only a matter of time before you damage a rim, then it gets expensive.

Fingers crossed that sorts it for you.

Some punctures are inevitable, so personally I will not use any tyre that can't be fitted onto my rims without any tool at all. That pretty much rules out anything made by Continental. Schwalbe Duranos are probably at least as good as the Gators and much much easier to fit.
