Just for the record: the paranormal found it's way into the basement here and hit a new butyl tube last week.

Despite I pumped fairly much air into the tube on Saturday, it shows no bubbles at all in the water, not even a tiny one. Put it carefully back into the new and unused tyre, checked that the valve is tight and left it with pressure just above 6 bars on Saturday evening on the wheel. Today afternoon it was fairly soft.
We are not amused.

But those self adhesive ones, what a load of rubbish (or at least the ones i bought) used two or three one winter, and they worked, but when the summer come and we had some hot weather, they all failed, they were literally a let down.
(I might of got that back to front, maybe they were put on in the summer and failed in the winter, I just can't remember)

Nether had a problem with SA patches, but they do need a good squeeze to properly stick and seal. It's not just putting on a plaster.
