Tyre as in tubeless or inner tube with slime?I have a puncture which has already got slime in it. I am not to sure how to repair a tyre that has slime in it. Can anyone help please?
It's with a tubeTyre as in tubeless or inner tube with slime?
The latter, take tube out, give tyre thorough clean of gunge and anything spiky that cause the puncture and replace tube (with air or new slime one. Simples
Just change it then, I doubt you can patch a slime tubeIt's with a tube
How do you mean, you're just talking it out of the tyre and binning it, just keep the valve cap on (I don't think you have to remove the slime to remove the tube, stupid thing if you do). Do it outside and put lots of newspaper down to protect patio / floor covering (if indoors)Would it make a mess with all the slime?
i can actually see a very small hole in the tyre which it sounds like the hissing is coming from.Just change it then, I doubt you can patch a slime tube
but what im saying is because the slime is liquid would it go everywhere? How do you mean, you're just talking it out of the tyre and binning it, just keep the valve cap on (I don't think you have to remove the slime to remove the tube, stupid thing if you do)
Yes there's a holei can actually see a very small hole in the tyre which it sounds like the hissing is coming from.
Does that show anything?
It might do - see my reply above. Maybe wear latex/rubber gloves to protect hands too and wear old clothesbut what im saying is because the slime is liquid would it go everywhere?
Okay. I have booked it in for repair at Halfords but maybe i should try it myself next time. Maybe with my Dad's helpIt might do - see my reply above. Maybe wear latex/rubber gloves to protect hands too and wear old clothes
Yes do that, if you're going to ride a bike, you should learn how to change a tube (I wouldn't bother with that slime nonsense, it just gums up the valves and costs loads)Okay. I have booked it in for repair at Halfords but maybe i should try it myself next time. Maybe with my Dad's help
Okay...do you reckon if i asked halfords, do you reckon they could take the slime out or not?Yes do that, if you're going to ride a bike, you should learn how to change a tube (I wouldn't bother with that slime nonsense, it just gums up the valves and costs loads)
