Protruding spokes

Is this occurring randomly or does the problem occur with spokes from one side only?

Is it possible you have your measurements wrong?

I've used a Dremel to file the offending bits off. My only worry is that there will be a small section of the spoke thread that is not engaged. Is that a problem?

36 hole
Sun Rhyno Lite XL 20" rim
SRAM Dual Drive nondisc hub
2 cross lacing pattern

Doh! I just realised that the thread of the nipple goes all the way to the top... It's only the protruding bits that are not engaged, but only by 1, 2 mm max.
