Maybe now, as a result of this, cancer may now be talked about in a more open matter. No more whispered comments about it, in case we offend others.

It's a respector of nothing, wealth, class or society status. It can be nigh on possible to live with, much less have to deal with. The "cures" can seem worse than the cancer, until you're sat down and the possible outcomes explained to you. Both if nothing is done and if treated. Then there's always that feeling in your head that it could be back.

The best of luck to her, and here's to the best outcome possible for her.

It was sad news last night but it helped to explain the secrecy. I wish them all the best.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Mrs SJ had breast cancer thirty years ago, fortunately caught in the very early stages and treatment began within a week as we had BUPA membership at the time. I lost my oldest friend to cancer in November '22, so I have every sympathy with anyone who is going through it. Not an experience anyone would want.

indeed
my mum died of cancer when i was about 10 , watching her slip away at home wasnt fun.My dad was 69 when he passed and that was painful enough .
mrs ck was one of the 1st in the uk to have combined chemo/ radiotherapy in the 1980s and shes still here

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Sad news and I wish her well.

People should try Tiktok, what a horrible place. Rumors are, she is in a coma, she is in a mental institution, she has donated a kidney to Charles, she is dead. Williams is having an affair and the other woman is pregnant and her husband is gay.

It's like Chinese whispers. There are so many vile people on Tiktok.

Whatever you're opinion is of the Royal family, to be so vicious vile and horrible to a fellow human being says more about them, their attitudes and how social media is encouraging these kinds of people to be the way they are.

True words.
I can never have pee without the fear of seeing blood in it.
I am not exagerating one bit but I reacted so badly to the treatment that the hospital specialist took me off if part way through, it literally came close to killing me.

I don’t subscribe to any of those sites Mrs p is on face ache mainly to stay in touch with ex colleagues.

Some of the crap that comes up goes from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Tbf, I think you can openly talk about it...and other formerly 'taboo' subjects.
My wife has had lung cancer a year ago and Is doing well, albeit a slow physical recovery...our sons mental health issues are discussed openly here, both subjects are openly discussed at work, no one bats an eyelid, it doesn't make anyone uncomfortable...and that really is something isn't it ? 40 years ago...no way. We really have come a long way in the last decade or two.

I'm with you, best wishes and hoping for a good outcome to her...and anyone else who is suffering.

So sad. So young to have your mum stolen from you.

dad took it hard at the time so i was basically doing the house stuff for a bit with 2 sisters , had to get him up and back to work .Luckily we had a very supportive community who came in to help .I couldnt go to school for a couple of months on a friday as mum died thursday night .
Dad eventually remarried as having 3 kids to look after we needed a mum

Barnet,
Whether you're a Royal, or a commoner like us, a cancer diagnosis is a tragically worrisome thing. I do think too much publicity surrounds the Royal family, I am not a fan, but they are people and deserve privacy.
A very good friend of mine is undergoing treatment, a second time for melanoma, which has spread, he also has a couple of complications to go with it.
It is all very worrying no matter who you are.

Whilst I forgot what forum I was on I was curious and looked at and comparison to the 'twitter cesspit' post.
The Royal family were certainly 'pressing' for privacy.
