Something inconsequentially annoying is that if you cash bonds in, the oldest ones you own go first. This means that those paper ones my dad gave me in 1960 ish are no more 😔

Yeah it is a bit of a lottery, there are some better savings bonds around at the mo - 3%+ for a one year tie in for example

Likewise, I got £500 in September 21 and then had bugger all since. Haven’t got the full holding.

The projected return rate is embarrassingly low with some of the good short-term deals available right now as @vickster has pointed out.

And the will likely get even better with interest rates likely to rise even further.

I started off great £150 in the first year, only £50 since Jan. I think I'm going to withdraw and put them in a fixed ISA, much better return and guaranteed.
