Indeed. But if the OP settles now, he'll have to pay out of his payout. I was pointing out that there is physio available on the NHS even if not ideal

Really sorry to hear that

Talk to your solicitor asap for advice on this, completely moves the goalposts

I was in a similar situation (3 weeks into a new job), I didn't get paid for the 8 days I was off but fortunately my boss was understanding and I was able to work at home (also helped with arranging medical appointments various).

Hope it all gets sorted ok

Indeed, get the solicitor to make arrangements for you to see an expert (assuming a GP unless you've been seeing a specialist, I personally saw an orthoapedic surgeon as I had orthopaedic surgery).

To give an idea of timescale. I made the expert appointment in mid April, saw him in early June, solicitor received my medical records (3 hospitals + GP) a couple of weeks ago, sent last week to expert, now awaiting his report!

As you have now lost your job, the solicitor can arrange for advance payments for loss of earnings which will come out of the final settlement

Definitely don't take the pre medical offer!!
Tell your solicitor immediately and ask your ex employer for a letter of dismissal stating the reasons i.e. that you have been unable to attend work due to the injury sustained by being knocked off your bike.

Good, hope it all works out as smoothly as possible. Before you go for the medical, make a note of all the appointments, symptoms etc...that said mine lasted 5 minutes, he just took the facts (glad I took a day off work for it)!! I think one of the aims is to confirm that you are not taking the p*ss, making a fraudulent claim, then they get all your medical records to review once the case is confirmed as genuine (this seems to be the slow bit)

Cool stuff...I was not quite so conscientious, at least not after the surgery. The first 14 days or so were a crazy whirlwind of pain and appointments various!
