I'm selling a bike on *-*** what courier service do people use?

Post Office seems to restrict size to 1.5 metres length and another I've looked at is similar (Hermes).

I'm guessing the packed bike will be approx 2x1 metres and around 12kg

THANKS!

Avoid Hermes like the plague, I usually use payperparcel which gives you a choice of couriers and will take bikes

Not sure if I'm doing this right - cheapest quote on payperparcel was £90............GULP!

From previous experience I was estimating around £30 - am I out of touch with courier prices??

I've sent a lot of outsize stuff using www.parcelmonkey.co.uk

They use City Link and Parcelforce, I believe they buy 'spare' capacity in bulk and sell it on. Dunno how that sounds to you but I've used them plenty for sending stuff sold on eBay and never had a problem. I was attracted to them by their reasonable prices but reviews I read at the time were positive, and when I read some guy sent a *canoe* then I decided to give them a go...

I'm back! Yippeee
a word from the wise use parcelforth ,then if the atomatic sorting system (the convaor belt i suspect) or the morons useing damage the bike they wont answer your emails or talk on the phone, contact them by letter and they will explain that it wasent packed properly and so isnt there faault even afer first approving the packaging!!! this is not opionon it it a recollection of my experiance with the ******** dont touch em

With the front wheel off and the bars turned a bike will box up under 1.5m - we've used Parcelforce a couple of times. Also used shiply with no problem (apart from one driver who arrived at 10pm instead of 7am!).
