Possible new gloves

Hi guys after recently changing from my mountain bike to a road bike ( and loving it ) I've recently started to get pins and needles in my left hand mainly thumb and forefinger. My fingerless gloves have hardly any padding left on them could that be the reason for it or something else. If so anyone recommend some decent ones.

That (lack of padding) and position on the bike are probably the problem. You are probably putting too much weight on your hands, this may abate as your core muscles strengthen up/ you become used to the position.
As to gloves spesh BG get good reviews (that what I mainly use).

You could double tape the bars or put some gel inserts under the bar tape, am sure some use old inner tubes as well under bar tape.

Just bought some altura pro gel gloves and they suck , ordered them because I had them before but they have changed the design , might try the spesh ones next year.

If you want mitts, the Specialized BG gel mitts are on sale at Cyclesurgery for about £16. They are well made too.
