Never tried em. All my other drop-barred bikes have had the shifters on the frame, so I wouldn't really miss the absence of fancy STI shifters. I've been keeping my eyes open for an 11-speed jtek shifter, given that the cos savings on the versa shifters compared to a jtek almost cover the premium you'd pay for an 11-speed hub.

jtek make drop bar shifters for alfine, it's a bar end type jobbie so not everyone's cup of tea but works a treat.
