You’re not going to believe this (I can hardly believe it myself) but in my local supermarket you can buy bags of “pre-sieved” flour. Do they sieve it just before it goes on the shelf? And don’t get me started on the whole ”pre” prefix nonsense either.

Pre mixed screenwash. Less product, higher price. Point tless for the consumer, but doubtless much love by retailers.
2 for 1. One packet has flour in and the other has empty air which the flour was originally sieved from. If you don't pre-sieve it your baking won't come out quite right. People spend silly money on breadmakers but where they actually go wrong is not getting pre-sieved flour.
Just convenience really. If you're wearing a visor all day you need to keep it clean and quickly just incase you have a head on collision inside a shop with someone else who also has a dirty visor.
