I think the geometry says it all really. it's no racer I agree but that's not what I want. It's a bike for those warm spring/summer days when I really just want to take in the scenery and get to my destination at some time or other, but maybe stop off on the way too.

I didn't really expect to be dissuaded Shadow, quite the opposite in fact. It was a post mainly made tongue-in-cheek. There was always the possibility of somebody suggesting an even better bargain but I thought I would share this one with the good folk of CC.
But I think this time something has got to give and either the Langster or MTB has to go. (which will leave me with two folders _ a Brommie and a Trek - and a Secteur Elite)

Disgusting Ian? Have you another suggestion given the intended use and bargain price? Bear in mind I already have two road bikes that can give me a fast ride over long distances. I would like an alternative, 'sit-up-and-beg' bike to just 'chill' on now and again. It will likely never see rain.
The Charge may not float your boat but I think it is a work of art.....and for £250?

Each to their own, Bill, and if you want it get it. It's certainly cheap!

Zizou, I would expect that the frame is more than up for it's intended use. Jumping off high banks or doing stunts? Probably not. A flat 3-mile, light off-road ride to my favourite pub with room for a bit of shopping on the way back? Most definately. The taxi fare savings would mean it would pay for itself in months.

Bill

I don't think you can argue with logic like that. When you factor taxi fares out of the equation the question becomes can you afford not to buy this bike. Obviously after it has paid for itself in taxi fares it will start actually giving you money. (sort of, probably)

It's a nice bike and it seems to be a very reasoanble price. We are living in austere times and there are several wars on. I'd say it was virtually a patriotic duty to buy this bike.

Do let us know how you get on

Don't buy it. It's ugly.

These things are subjective though. Having said that, you're wrong. It has a simple quality that makes it quite cool.
