Last Saturday on route 64 after collecting bike from Halfords Newark. Was going to sit awhile but there was a field with dogs that were attacking every dog that walked by opposite so I moved on as I had my dog with me.

I have never noticed that bench. When I ride that way I either test myself with a sprint up that little climb to the crossroads and am staring up the hill, OR I am riding at a more leisurely pace and am looking over to my left, enjoying the scenery in front of that seat...

I had never thought about how odd that wall looks!

I thought of one bench that I would like to feature. I have an old photo but I think I will go and take a better one first.

maybe to discourage people from sitting on it with their feet dangling into the road, yet still provide some protection for the footpath
