at the moment i am here in Toronto ,its 8.15am,i am just about to tuck into a all you can eat $12(6 pounds) breakfast:tongue: this will be followed by going up the CN tower (was the tallest free standing building in the world a few years ago,

strongly suggest you eat big breakfast after you have been up the tower :rolleyes:
If the experience is anything like the old East German tower which used to be the tallest at 365m I believe.

One floor 40 seconds everybody ended up slammed to their knees at the bottom. At the top the tower swayed a couple of yards and the floor was sloped .I felt really sick and was too scared to stay up there and even more scared to go back down again :smile::ohmy::ohmy:

interesting to note that the Toronto tower resturant is considerably lower than the East German one and the lift is a third slower at 58 seconds as apposed to 40 seconds for the German one

Does a backwards coast to coast mean you start on the West coast, pedal madly over the Irish Sea, across the Atlantic, the US, the Pacific, Siberia, Russia, various northern European countries, finally arriving on the East coast of the UK, wet, tired and triumphant ?

:smile::biggrin::biggrin:

Or are you doing it on a fixed gear bike?

bloody ell, how do some of you lot find time to go cycling at weekends? I'm so jealous. My weekend life seems to revolve around household jobs and family visits etc.

No fixie and no round the world unfortunately....just dodging the raindrops between Newcastle and Whitehaven (we abandoned the Tynemouth start).

Off to get the train now...horribly overexcited.

Off to Brecon Beacons for a week! My brother is coming over tomorrow and driving me there as me camper is playing up at the moment (high oil temp), so can't go in that. Will be in the middle of nowhere all week - nearest shop 7 miles, though nearest pub is a more sensible 1 mile.

I usually go out early in the morning, tomorrow we're off out at 7am. That way you're back before the rest of the house have got themselves together and you've still got the whole day.

It's a good time to go out, the countryside is nice and the roads are quiet.

Lat 3 days of my holiday so am making the most of it. Off out in the next half hour or so for a 25-30 mile blast. Film tonight with a couple of beers snuggled up with the missus. Saturday check the bike over before going the beach to fly kite. Sunday will be on the Social Club run assuming a few others get out of bed.

Maz - it's a juggling act - my wife usually goes to the gym sat am, so I go out on sun am - kid stuff etc is sat/sun afternoons. Visiting - bugger that - too busy !

Just back from Gullivers World in Warrington - been there all day - the rides were just about my level.......phew...

Might pop down to N Wales for the night tomorrow - MIL is at her caravan for a day or two, so we'll help out with her mobility (recovering from a stroke).

And I'm off next week...lots of stuff with the kids, and maybe the odd longer ride (60 miles) to prep. for the Manchester 100
