Today I was mostly driving this beasty on the Churnet Valley Railway:
We're there visiting for a couple of weeks. Originally the plan was just to attend for the diesel gala (next weekend), but we got an outing today as the CVR are short of functioning kettles!
First time I've driven on the line, quite a nice run. Going from Kingsley & Frogall up to Leekbrook Junction is good as its an uphill gradient in that direction. The 500 yard tunnel just outside Cheddleton has fantastic acoustics for blasting through on full power!!

Whereabouts is the train you were driving? Steam or diesel?
Some years ago I was a Travelling Ticket Inspector - Severn Valley Railway.
