You can still get it for £80.63 inc VAT if you put in the code PYB30 for the next couple of days (that's a 30% discount). Quo is a considerably cheaper way of getting full OS digital maps than Memory Maps, even at normal price. And the program itself is free.

It still annoys me that we have to pay for digital mapping though. Americans can get their map data for nothing. Obviously we should pay for paper maps, but I think the actual mapping information should be put in the public domain.

Well, as you probably know, the 1:250,000 maps are free, so if you're happy to plan using those, and use Bike Route Toaster (or similar) to plot gpx routes which you import into Quo, you can do it completely free. Though of course the 1:250,000 are extremely compromised in the detail they give, so not very helpful if you really want to get a good idea of a route.

Under the Open Data initiative, I see there are several maps available for free, but I haven't spent any time working out their general usefulness.
