Well it was the first time I had experienced this, but it was also the first time I had ridden over 18 miles.

Some good suggestions, will play around with seat position as that was moved back a short while ago while I was look for source of creaks.

Thanks also for the tip with the hand behind the back, may be very useful.

Here's a pic of my hood "angle" let me know if you think its an odd angle versus 'the norm'.

Everyone will have the "angle" slightly different, but I had painful hands when I first bought my bike. I adjusted the bars so that the flat part of the drops was parallel with the stem, and the pain went away. Might be worth a try?

I moved the seat forward, to the opposite extreme to before and went for a ride today. Didn't get pins and needles so bad (had slight feeling in my left hand but nowhere near as bad) but my bum got it real bad. That's with bum cream too...

Going to adjust it to the middle, anyone reckon adjusting seat angle would make any difference?

Too much pressure on your palms/wrists. Shorter/higher stem and lighter grip on the bars.

How do I make the stem higher? I guess I take a ring out or two to make it shorter yes? When you say lighter grip on bars you mean make my hands less tight?

Stupid questions here probably lol.

If you release all 4 bolts that hold your bars to the stem and then the 2 bolts that hold the stem to the steerer. Take the stem off - flip it over and put it back on. This will bring your bars up slightly (google "flipping road bike stem").
Adjust your saddle to midpoint and get the seat height correct. General rule of thumb is to put your heel on the pedal and have a straight leg. This will give you a good starting point for seat height.
Net result should be close enough for you to ride comfortably.
If you lived in London i would adjust this for you :smile:
