Been looking at a pinnacle lithium 2 in evans - it's down to 318 squids
Any other users got any experience or reviews ?
I wouldn't normally shop in evans for a bike because I generally think they are overpriced, but this bike caught my eye though to be fair it is hard to miss it's bright orange and glows in the dark you know.
The model online is without suspension but the one in my shop has front fork suspension with a lockout.

I did also see Halfords had some rather affordable boardmans in their Jan sale. Nothing in a garish orange though.

Too much choice...........very little intelligence

in my experience with the 2005 Altus derailleur which i may add worked and was never replaced but unfortunatly the MX2 with it was stolen, is they shift perfectly well when set up. i cant comment on the boardmans as the two around the same price either also have altus and alloy or SRAM which i never used.

Another 30 quid gets you the 2015 version of the 2 which has disc brakes.

I've got one (no suspension, hydraulic disk brakes), but only have ridden it 4 miles from the shop to home, before I got an email saying the derallieur hanger had been recalled.
Got the new part from Evans, but for various reasons have not fitted it yet (have other bikes to ride). From my brief ride I like it, the handlebars are a bit too wide, but it's easy to cut them off.
Got new tyres for it, and new pedals, new grips. Will also fit a bigger big front ring.
@MikeW-71 also has one, I believe he changed some of the specs and rode his much more than I have ridden mine so far.

Put a good few miles on mine now. Nice bike. Rolls along quite nicely with quite relaxed handling, and has low gearing.

I've changed the grips to ergo ones with bar ends (I find them much more comfortable than round grips). If you're looking at one, check that the derailleur hanger recall has already been done. They have the parts for them, so it'll save you carting it back to get it done later.

Only other thing I've done is fit a rack to it.

@MikeW-71 I also have bar ends and a very light topeak touring disk rack to fit, bargains found rummaging at the bike station!
Have you changed the tyres also? If yes, which ones did you get?

The stock tyres seem fine, I'm staying with them until they wear out

I think I am going to go for one of the boardman hybrids on sale in halfords I get a pretty decent discount there from wider wallet website and depending if my next door neighbour as at work on the day I go to get it I might get the staff discount as well, only disappointment is that it will not glow in the dark

The Boardman would be a bit quicker as it's more of a flat-bar road bike (as long as it doesn't have a suspension fork). The glow-in-the-dark is not that bright

Pinnacle Lithium 3 took my fancy when when I first seen it, the green kind of stands out And it seems reasonably priced. I know very little about bikes and fancy a hybrid for my daily commute. But from further research I think I'm going to need a front suspension due to my journey being multi surfaced, few dual carriage ways to avoid. The Boardman MX Sport or Comp seems like a good choice and a few posters have left good reviews.

Define multi-surface. Unless it's proper MTB territory, it is unlikely you will need suspension at all.
