So, I’ve had her a few weeks now (Chris- CWs old machine).

Took some pics as I’ve just resprayed the rear wheel. It was red, but no where near a match for the frame. Went down the Halfords ‘Stealth Black’ route. I’m well pleased with it, so I’m gonna do the Minis wheels the same colour. Only other things I’ve done is to fit the obligatory rack, Mirrycle mirrors, Airzound horn, lights, Marathon plus tyres, and a very good ‘Avantree’ Bluetooth speaker (yes, that’s not a water bottle in the water bottle holder. Not sure the flag will stay. It’s very nice looking, but makes a lot of noise due to its material being a bit crinkley.

Very nice looking thing indeed. Looking at the pics it's got no suspension either end, how does it cope with our roads?

I’ve owned a Catrike 700 before, which I sold and bought a Trice QNT with rear suspension. Although the Catrike was a fair bit faster on smooth roads, the QNT was faster over the rough bits, which resulted in the same commute time of 45 mins on average. The Catrike can do fast over the rough stuff, but it ain’t comfy. What it does do though, is beat the average road biker without me having push myself to the limit. So, yes the Catrike wins for me......I don’t like to lose!

How is the seat compared to a hardshell seat?

There’s talk of a hard shell seat being better for pushing against, and there probably is a slight performance advantage over the mesh seat, but it’s only (imho) a tiny advantage. I find the mesh seat very comfy, and there’s less sweaty back to bear.....nice in this weather.

Very nice. I prefer having 20" wheels on the front though. I run mine with 40mm Racers on the front and a 32 mm Passela PT on the rear (50 psi and 70psi respectively). I think the mesh seat really helps over rough roads and I don't think there's power loss compared to a hard shell with a pad. Comfort is good over chipseal and surface damaged roads but it can get a bit jarring when the road is really potholed and breaking up.

I aim to get mine up for sale on eBay tonight. I have a "sell for £3 fees" offer for yesterday and today listing only. The trike deserves a faster rider than me.
