Phone woes

So every knows that when you drop your mobile phone in the bath you dry it out in a bag of rice.

Does anyone know how to get the rice out of the charger socket afterward?

Think I'm going to need a replacement phone - it works but I can't charge it

Rice that has soaked up any moisture gets really brittle / crumbly so you should be able to break it up. Use a pin, or a needle. Just prize most of it out using your implement at a 45 degree angle, and then get the hoover nozzle on it.

If you have to go for the nuclear option maybe consider one that is IP67 rated (dust & water resistant). I can recommend the Pixel 3.

White long-grain. Already poked a knife point in to remove the rice. Not tried the hoover yet though.

Wireless charging? Don't think that had been invented when this phone was new.

If I have to get a new one it will be the cheapest possible second-hand one

I used a sharpened stick with the aid of a binocular loupe when mine became so full of pocket lint that it wouldn’t charge. Pegwood or a cocktail stick
