Well done for finding this ancient thread. Doo seize the opportunity to tell us like it really was bitd in NJ.
(Owner of a glued and screwed '81 ALAN (bought in '83 for £200 - was told it was titanium alloy :rolleyes:) and rode off and on since then.)

A friend turned me on to this site and after looking around I found this. I actually have all kinds of Peugeot nick knacks and several bikes too... some unopened from the late 80s...

I still have my Comete which I bought new sometime in the 1980s (1984/5?).

I haven't ridden it much in recent years as the gearing isn't well matched to my old legs but I used to regularly struggle up Ditchling Beacon back in the day. I still like the look of the bike but am reducing my bike collection so may have to part with it soon.

Hi Alan, I've only just seen your reply to my old old thread

I let my Comete go a few years back but would love to hear what lay behind the recall

also on behalf of everyone can I ask...what's in the unopened boxes.:laugh:
