This is my worry, my dog weighs 28kg, with trailer I'd be towing almost 40kg. I'm not sure I'm strong enough.

Worth a try I guess, people tow their kids in them and the weights will be similar?

Sara, you're gonna be ok if there is no steep hills: I managed the 28 Kg plus trailer in second gear on a small hilly bit I normally take on 4th gear. You only want to take the dog to your Mum's and back home, is that correct?
If the road is fairly flat you will manage, imo.

Yes fairly flat to my mums, there's a little hill coming back but I could always push that bit.

Does anyone have any experience/advice about using one for a Folding bike?
Ive seen images of them being used on various websites but no real in depth reviews like the one you have written.
If I hit any major hills I plan to let my dog out and he can help me pull the thing up hills!
