Postie a bit quieter and sad tonight.A phone call this afternoon and the sad news a dear friend has passed away in hospital.Harold in his eighties and from our church. He was much loved by all of us from two boys youngest nine to the oldest. The young people students loved him.they would ask him out for trips to food places.Me and Mrs P ran a group for people to come out to cafes Harold was one Leslie was another,we picked them both up and then took them home.It was a wonderful time. His story is lovely.Living by himself after two wives died before him,he was lonely. Our church was new to the area, and a few of the older members decided to visit their neighbours to see if they were alright and would they be interested in meeting up.It seems he was lonely and was not bothered, but as he closed the door he opened it again.Well the rest is history,we became his family all of us,the young students were all over him, like me he was not always pc,but i loved him he spoke his mind.He joined our housegroup and two youngest boys adored him, they were not part of the group as such, they went to bed as we arrived at the house to meet up.But any social like the Xmas dinner they joined in.He will be missed by us.I am glad he opened his door and listened.i had years of joy with him and a few pints he and my daughter got on like a house on fire.He loved young people.Thank you Harold for touching even the short time a part of my life.
