Absolutely, but how did you get in the air (ie jumping) in the first place. Answer: by putting down MORE force than your weight, thus accelerating you up. Same, same with pedals. When honking, on each pedal, you are putting all your weight plus the force created by the forceful extension of your leg, reducing flex in the knee as you do so. Add to that the force to oppose your pulling up on the bars. A force more than your weight drives down each pedal. Check with your physics teacher at school if still not convinced.
I suspect all 8 stone of Bradley Wiggins is putting far more force on the pedals when putting in 100% effort straining against the handlebars - and he's doing it all day for hundreds of miles - that a somewhat fat chap doong normal cycling.
