I've seen pedals which take a hex key, but never one that takes a hex socket. What have you seen?

I'm not sure that the ebay listings of "Shenzhen aBigjoy Technology Co., Ltd" are the most authoritative users of English you could have appealed to - and even they hedge their bets calling them hex key bit sockets in an almighty linguistic pile-up

If your pedal is stuck fast and a spanner across the flats won't shift it then I'm afraid an Allen key won't stand a chance.

I find Allen wrenches to be better. I only use decent Allen bits (Teng), and they don't deform and spread like the jaws of even the best spanners will.
