Just spent an enjoyable evening watching the first round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series down here on the Isle of Wight. The relatively short course meant the action was never too far away, and they completed around 30 laps so plenty of opportunity to see some close-up racing. There was a TT earlier in the afternoon, and various other races for mere mortals to get involved with. If you happen to be near one of the upcoming venues for this event (there's 10 in the series I believe) I would thoroughly recommend going along.

Where are the other stages?
Can't remember where most of the others are Katherine, but they did seem to be dotted around the country, so I'm guessing the series is pretty accessible to folk in most areas. I would imagine there must be a website with all the details out there somewhere. If you happen to be close to one of the events it's well worth a look.

Looks like a very cool event to watch. I must try and get to see something like this.

I missed the Tour De Yorkshire, and the TDF, but I did catch the Tour of Britain last year.

We got in to it a couple of years ago on the TV (this round has just been televised and I've seen the last two at Canary Wharf which were fun. We're talking about doing Canary Wharf and I think Croydon this year. My wife came along last year and really enjoyed it even though Canary Wharf isn't the most technical of circuits. The pace they go, and the fast laps make for an involved race and it's worth getting to see just how fast, and close, they do the corners.

http://www.tourseries.co.uk/home.php is the website (although you may get spoilers on races that have happened if you're thinking of watching Ryde on TV)

Went over on the ferry last night. I agree it was an excellent evening and would recommend future events.
