That's a pity, I remember him well from the early days after the 'mass migration'
I hardly ever strayed into the politics stuff, but I liked his posts in the caff, and his general outlook ... He once enquired as to where he might find a comely pic of Helen Mirren in her swimming togs, which I had posted.

I never met Patrick but he always came across as a nice fellow. I'm sorry to read that he has died.


I met them both a couple of times. Also nice, er, fellows.

I hadn't been on here for a while and have only just seen this. A bit of a shock as he was an entertaining and interesting poster with a lovely sense of humour. I did wonder where he'd got to as he just stopped posting without any drama. Does anyone know if he had a prolonged illness before sadly passing away?

I've just returned too after 4 years cycling rest (no, it was not early release - honest guv) to discover Patrick's passing. It seems another age where a person you disagreed with on everything was always engaging and the epitome of politeness. Politics is now so nasty that the temptation to just walk away becomes so great leaving the field to even nastier discussion.

I shall toast him with a wee dram of whisky tonight.
