I do have my doubts about how long it will last, but I've only used it to patch repair existing pointing, rather than starting from scratch. I find it hard to believe that something that easy to use can be as good as the real thing, but I'm rubbish at using a wet mix, it's like watching a 2 year old with play dough.

Slate is not the ideal material for a patio in my opinion although it looks nice. Whatever material you decide upon for the joints make sure you completely fill the gap as water will cause problems. As slate is not absorbent like, say sandstone I would lean towards a polymeric sand.

Geofix works well when applied correctly.
Most are a quick DIY costly alternative to the traditional method.
