Anyone used this kit before?

I'm struggling with inner cables (tried all the tricks) so might see if this will cute my woes.
£50 on this kit, or spend the money at the bike shop getting them to do it. I'd rather do it myself really.

As long as it does what it's supposed to! My bike has an aluminium frame, so should work I hope. If I can use it a few times then I'll get my money's worth.

I've used the IR-1 on several different bikes, both carbon and aluminium, and found it a great time saver. Wouldn't be without it now for internally cabled bikes.

I paid around £38 for mine so worthwhile shopping around.

You could contact your local supplier of hydraulic pipes and fittings and ask if they've got any "Cunifer" (Copper Nicker Iron) car brake pipe, which is 3.5mm outside and 1.5 mm inside diameter IIRC and perfect for threading through frames. Failing that you can buy 6mm outside diameter from plumbers' merchants, I think. Even B&Q might have it.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
What would be the process for using the "Cunifer"? How is it easier to thread through than the cable itself?

If you work on your own bike buy one you will not regret it.

I also used it to thread cables behind a built in unit in the lounge, so has other uses as well

Cunifer tubing is just bendy copper pipe so you can put a small bend in the end to bring it out then thread it in at the BB, wiggle it and it will come out of the exit hole at the end of the chainstay.

This job is easy on bikes, which have a biggish opening under the BB. With my Specialized I have actually given up using the Cunifer tube because just pushing the cable down the chainstay usually brings it straight out of the cable hole, either by good luck or good design.
