Reminiscent of that stage in the TdF last year when wind broke the whole peloton into pieces. Some tactical nous shown by the riders who managed to stay in the front group - David Millar showing some experience there. Mind you, these time gaps are not going to be hold through the mountains...

When Contador drafted that car after his crash, was that legal?

Greg Henderson getting the win is yet another feather in the Sky team hat. I would like to see Millar get a podium finish in this race but it's early days yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well he's slipped back to 4th in GC today Cathryn, so you'll need to shout at him louder and tell him to keep nearer to the front.
Todays stage is a little more lumpy and with an uphill finish so we may well see a change at the top tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one's made for a strongman climber rather than a pure mountain specialist... and it's the king of stage where a breakaway would work... lot of ups and downs make it difficult for organisation in the peloton.

I would've thought so too, but the 3 man break is being pulled back pretty quick and the "big" climb of the day was only 4 ks long and barely slowed the peloton down. Oh well....

Of course, it requires a serious effort to be made by someone... if they decide to treat it as a training exercise for the GTs then the whole race gets devalued, unfortunately.

This Sagan is phenomonal - he TTs, climbs and sprints - a bloody good all rounder - and he's only 20!!
Nico Roche was 3rd

It didn't look like a training run to me. Roche, Sagan and Contador put some serious effort to break away on the only obvious place to do so. Voigt was wiped out too and Bertie had to shove him from behind on the run in to make him take the lead. Got him the yellow though.
Tomorrow should be the decisive stage.

I agree - and I think there is only Luis Leon Sanchez who poses any serious threat to Contador. If he sticks to Alberto like glue, he will win it. But that's easier said than done!
