Talking of which, he was sat a couple of rows in front of me at the Athletics tonight, but he wasn't throwing any helmets!

Was lucky enough to meet some Paralympic medal winners while working down at the Paralympic Village on Thurs, among them Christian Venge and his pilot David Llaurado Caldero who won gold in the Class B tandem Time Trial. As a cycling fan it was great talking to them, particularly as they had their bike with them and let me have a look/feel. I didn't ask for it but Christian even put his medal round my neck when I asked to take a picture of them both!

Was great to see the athletes getting so much media attention and from the public. The Olympic athletes were fairly visible and accessible during the games, but during the Paralympics it has been fantastic to see so many athletes out and about around London. On Thurs, a few medal winners spent ages patiently posing for pictures, showing children their medals etc. and talking to them it was great to get their competitions in the public focus. Very humbling.
