Because next door have a bigger gates and its easier to ram mine.
Use a heavy chain and padlock
He stands there ramming the front wheel into the gates
Hang on something doesn't compute. "Ramming" suggests he's riding into them at some speed. "Standing there" suggests he's gently pushing with the front tyre. Big difference. I get he shouldn't be doing it but you're making it sound like he's almost vandalising them.
How about just have a quiet word with the lad and politely ask him to open the gate normally.
Hes done both, riding into it and smacking i
He's done both riding at the gate and smacking it hard with the front tyre whilst at a stop. I'm keeping it locked from now on, until I go out which is later than he comes. He's been told about this before which makes it more annoying really. Sorry you didn't understand.
Why should I have a "polite word" when he's acting like this? It's for the shop to get him told.
Would this annoy you or is it me? I've two wrought iron gates that are a bit old and the paperboy that goes next door doesn't open them with his hand he just rides his bike at the gates and rams them till they giveway. They are going to come off the hinges and his parents will be paying for new ones.
I keep hearing the gates crashing against the posts and I've told the paper shop before about this and I've been in and told them about it again today. I dont see why I'll have to buy new gates if he damages them and they are going to come off the hinges or break.
I don't even get a paper its next door but he comes through my gate because its smaller than next doors.
I'm going to tie them with a zip tie on Monday morning and watch.
Serve a “without prejudice” legal notice on the papershop over criminal damage to your gates! 😎

Because there is enough anger in the world without having to make any more?
Its for the shop to do as they employ him. End of story.

One minute it's his parents you are threatening to make pay for new gates, now it's apparently all the shops fault.
A simple and sensible solution that you speak to said person and ask them to stop is rejected out of hand by you.
A picture is building up here.
