Most should fit I would think. It just depends on how much you want to carry. Also watch out for heel clearance so your feet don't strike the bags. I think this largely depends on frame geometry though and feet size - What bike is it?

Heel strike is the main problem when it comes to fit.

The bike's a Vita, so I'm assuming you are female which could be good because most lasses have smaller feet than lads.

Some panniers are narrower towards the bottom to alleviate the problem.

Much may also depend on how the rack is mounted, the higher and the further back the better.

You won't be certain of fit until you offer the bag up to the bike, but you say you don't want to carry much so most smaller panniers ought to be OK.

Hi Guys!! I'm looking to buy panniers for my 21 days LEJoG's voyage next April. I am hoping to carry a 1 man tent, maybe 1.25kg job. I plan on mixing, camping, B&B's and pub stays throughout the desingnated time ( I want to see the country and experience the adventure.
My dilema is - spoilt for choice panniers, I'm torn between Ortleib's or Alturer's. They are priced about the same and by next April I plan to be fit, educated and keen to burn bike rubber!!

I use Altura Dry-line panniers. Quite large when filled and a very sturdy base that allows them to stand up when full, they don't protrude too much when empty either. Fixings are also very hard wearing and sturdy. I don't tour though but do commute and use them for work clothes and a weeks worth of bits and bobs. Best to try to try before you buy if only to check compatibility with the bike. Best option to fill them with all you think you'll need to bring but that might be tricky in a shop! Ortlieb are by far the most highly recommended as a rule but other options are available. Keep us all posted!! Gez
