Measuring stems?

Thinking of changing the stem on my bike, they come in different sizes. Exactly where do you measure to/from?

Centre to centre. You will often find the length marked on the stem somewhere.

They also come in a variety of angles, to raise or lower the bars. I always use a zero rise, which gives just a slight rise.

You can also flip a stem to alter the position of the bars 👍
