Just been instructed to buy one white and one brown loaf and ship them home on the train, as my home town is clean out. She (who must be obeyed) also wants 12 pints of milk but that's above and beyond given that I've got to walk two miles home with it. And before someone says something about the milk, that's what we go through in about four-five days.
Just used the breadmaker I bought in April. It was used in April about 20 times and now it has had its 21st outing. I still had flour and yeast from way back and sugar, water and oil were easy to find. Just wonder when it will be in action again.
My local tea shop was right out of Battenberg cake today, I had to settle for something called Birthday slice to have after my sandwich at lunchtime.
Looks as if the panic buying is a nationwide phenomena.
The supermarkets should just remove all the plaggie bags so people can only buy what they can carry (a Security Guard at the door to shoot those trying to run out with a trolley). Job sorted!
