I meet up with an arrogant twunt on a bike every morning when walking my dog on a path in the local park pre 6 a.m.

I don't *know* if it's a shared path but since he, me and the dog are sharing it, IMO, a bit of curtesy extends both ways. I did initially move off the path, but with his speed and without the odd thank you (well, a 'morning' would suffice), I found that a couple of blasts in the face with my Cree torch did the trick. He still doesn't acknowledge me but now I don't move out the way and he has to slow down.

I do the same path coming home from work but now it's pitch black and there are usually a few peds about, I stick to the road or slow down to virtually a walking pace.

When I take the dog walking along tow paths, I make her sit at the side and let cyclists come by. 9 times out of 10 a cheery wave or thank you is received, When I'm out cycling with the dog along the tow, I get off the bike, call her to sit and cyclists and other peds are always given way to.

To me, it's just about good manners and ultimately, the safety of all concerned.

Entirel;y reasonable well balanced common sense view.
Technically i can see that pedestrians are justified in deliberately blocking cyclists and the onus is on the cyclist to stop and aknowledge that the pedestrians safety has the higher priority. I can see all that and i agree with it but personally i also think the blocker also has a degree of duty of consideration to the faster , overtaking person. I always try and facilitate cars overtaking me when im on the roads and i would personally appreciate it if pedestrians would do what they can to facilitate me overtaking them - that dosnt mean me going to fast , it just means maybe moving to the side and not deliberately getting in the way.
I think we largely agree - and i would (probably) sat good morning to you , followed by get that torch out of my face you nutter.

Oh tilly i do sympathise . Any time you want a borrow it just give me the wink and ill get jefferson to fly it down to you in the spitfire.

I believe this is a spoof posting!

I have never read of a Colnago being transported anywhere in a Spitfire (either the 2-seater sportscar or the military aircraft).

Furthermore, I do not belive it is practical or practicable to transport a bicycle in either vehicle type.

We are having out leg pulled!

I blame (as ever) the Government.

Too busy grousing with flossy and badger this time of year for any spoofing old bean.
Youd be surprised what you can fit in the old girl with a little imagination. Cracking bike the colnago - happy to let others have a ride on the beast - only proviso being that youve got a makedo landing strip on the estate, we cant afford a repeat of last christmas when jefferson took the vicar out and almost took the steeple off the church. Those aviation rozzers are tenacious devils - saw the funny side in the end after a few bottles of mount gay and the vicar pointing out that id paid for the blessed new church roof in the first place.
